He Pikinga Wairoa Policy Briefing: Māori Implementation Science Platform
The purpose of this policy briefing is to set out the take home messages from an Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR) project that has examined what support is needed from the wider system to embed Māori Implementation Science as legitimate, credible and salient capability within health policy and delivery. Māori implementation science blends kaupapa Māori methods with systems thinking, community-based participatory research and knowledge translation theories to promote the integration of research findings and evidence in healthcare policy and practice. This project has been aligned to He Pikinga Waiora, a project funded by the Healthier Lives National Science Challenge to develop an implementation framework for activating community partnerships, indigenising evidence-based initiatives and creating sustainable and effective intervention pathways.
